Intense and lively with a pleasantly dry and smoky character when settled.

We were introduced to Peaberry Dark Roast by my wife's brother who lives on Kauai. We have been getting it for a few years now. We miss the old gold foil package for 5# bag.

I was given a bag of this coffee (dark roast) by my brother who had visited your estate while on holiday. I've just had my first (pourover) cup and I love it. Smooth, rich & an intriguing aftertaste. One of the best coffees I've had in a very long time. Mahalo!

Drinking a cup ridge now. The best cup I can ever remember. Was drinking Typica, but my wife wanted the Peaberry. Such a full, easy on the palate, and complete taste. Thank you
The most flavorful and smooth Decaf
May 6, 2016
I first bought this whole bean at a fundraiser on Oahu. I use a drip cone and grind between fine and espresso. This is an impressive cup of coffee with full flavor and no weird lingering after taste like some decaf I've tried. If someone served me this without knowing I would think it was just excellent coffee. This pea berry stands out! Thank you Kauai Coffee.

I have not yet found a coffee that I could drink w/o adding either sugar or cream to. However, this one I can drink straight w/o anything added. I love it! (If you ever make it to Kaua'i, I highly recommend visiting and getting the guided tour--it's FREE. Learned so much about how coffee is made and about the heritage of the people!)

Rich and Smooth
February 14, 2013
A wonderfully rich and smooth finishing coffee that is a pleasure to drink... This reserve coffee is easily distinguishable from typical blended coffees. I actually look forward to the fine finish of this coffee on my palette. Enjoy! FYI: my tastes prefer a medium to dark roast...
Best Coffee Ever

Which of your products has the highest caffeine concentration and isn’t very oily?

I took exactly ten grams of both a light and dark roast.
Counting the beans of each, I had sixty-five light roast beans and sixty-seven dark roast beans. Only a two bean difference, big deal, right? Well, actually yes, because if there is a two bean variance with just ten grams how many beans separate a pound of light and dark?
There is an estimated ninety bean difference between a pound of dark and light roast coffee, with the dark roast winning the count. (Don’t worry I didn’t count an entire pound to figure that out).
So, what does this mean? You should only buy dark roasts because you get more beans for your buck?
No, because volume is not everything. During the roasting process, a bean loses its mass. The density of the bean changes; beans that are roasted longer are less dense. That’s why you have more beans by mass of dark roasts. When coffee is roasted the beans lose roughly 90% of their water content.
So, how does this change a pot of coffee?
If you measure your coffee by scoops, light roasted coffee will have more caffeine. Since the beans are denser than a darker roast. However if you weigh out your scoops, darker roasts will have more caffeine, because there is less mass. What should also be noted is that Arabica beans vary in levels of caffeine depending on the plant species.
And, as we know from our caffeine basics the amount of caffeine in a cup of coffee is so minimal, we might not even notice the difference.

Hi, can this coffee be used for espresso (latte, if we’re being exact)? Thanks!

Caffeine contents vary by coffee type and how it's brewed. However, there are approximately 100mg of caffeine per tablespoon of coffee
