Intense and lively with a pleasantly dry and smoky character when settled.
Peaberry - Medium Roast
Sweet fragrance with hints of lemon. The acidity enveloped in sweetness carries through into the long fininsh. A rousing cup of coffee - sweet, bright flavors that tease of citrus. Here is a coffee brimming with tropical sunshine.
We received our first bag of this coffee as a gift. Now we order it for ourselves and as gifts for others. It is so smooth and delicious!

Great coffee, not bitter and has a smooth finish. Been ordering Kauai coffee for years, never disappointed!
5 pounds for life

I have purchased either 2 or 3 five pound bags of Kauai Coffee Estate Reserve Peaberry per year for over five years in a row. I grind the beans and make a pot of coffee each morning. This is a mild but full bodied and flavorful drink.
My only complaint / wish is that Kauai Coffee would make the other peabody coffees available in the five pound quantity. I have been on the email list for notice of peabody coffees for over a decade and never received an email notifying me of availability.

I brew the medium roast with Chemex. My wife is very picky with her coffee and she loves it because it is more flavorful and not so overpowering. I have been ordering the 2 lb bags rather than 5 lb so they stay fresh!

simply the best of the best

As a coffee aficionado, I am an expert brewer. I have tried coffees from all over the world with any imaginable roast. This is the most flavorful, smooth, exquisitely pleasant bean I have ever tasted. It is the same bean from the same coffee plant in the same soil and the same climate as Kona (which I also love). If you try Kauai peaberry you will taste what I mean immediately.

A Lovely Indulgence

I am no self-proclaimed coffee expert. I simply know what I like, and this estate peaberry fulfills all my requirements; intense aroma, full flavor, lingering flavor. The islands of Hawai’i have long produced exceptional coffees due to their geographical location, abundant natural sunlight, rain and volcanic soil. The perfect “recipe” coming together to allow growers to make earth magic. I highly recommend this coffee, and will definitely be purchasing from Kauai Coffee again. Their prices are reasonable and the product exceptional. If you are reading reviews in order to decide if you want to try their coffee, go ahead and pull the trigger. I guarantee you will become a huge fan.

Which of your products has the highest caffeine concentration and isn't very oily?

I took exactly ten grams of both a light and dark roast.
Counting the beans of each, I had sixty-five light roast beans and sixty-seven dark roast beans. Only a two bean difference, big deal, right? Well, actually yes, because if there is a two bean variance with just ten grams how many beans separate a pound of light and dark?
There is an estimated ninety bean difference between a pound of dark and light roast coffee, with the dark roast winning the count. (Don't worry I didn't count an entire pound to figure that out).
So, what does this mean? You should only buy dark roasts because you get more beans for your buck?
No, because volume is not everything. During the roasting process, a bean loses its mass. The density of the bean changes; beans that are roasted longer are less dense. That's why you have more beans by mass of dark roasts. When coffee is roasted the beans lose roughly 90% of their water content.
So, how does this change a pot of coffee?
If you measure your coffee by scoops, light roasted coffee will have more caffeine. Since the beans are denser than a darker roast. However if you weigh out your scoops, darker roasts will have more caffeine, because there is less mass. What should also be noted is that Arabica beans vary in levels of caffeine depending on the plant species.
And, as we know from our caffeine basics the amount of caffeine in a cup of coffee is so minimal, we might not even notice the difference.
