Peaberry - Dark Roast

Intense and lively with a pleasantly dry and smoky character when settled.

Peaberry - Medium Roast

Sweet fragrance with hints of lemon. The acidity enveloped in sweetness carries through into the long fininsh. A rousing cup of coffee - sweet, bright flavors that tease of citrus. Here is a coffee brimming with tropical sunshine.

I’ve been buying this coffee for years and I’m totally spoiled. I won’t drink anything else. It’s smooth, rich and not bitter.

Peaberry Dark Roast

September 2, 2019

We visited the Kauai Coffee plantation in April. My husband (who is not a coffee drinker) enjoyed the informational videos of the plantation history and the process of making harvesting, roasting the fruit. I, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed the tasting room! Each sample was unique and delicious. We returned with several bags of coffee for me and other family members. We have all agreed that the Peaberry Dark Roast is just superb. My daughter took a carafe to a neighborhood gathering. The guests stated it was the best coffee they had ever had! Only then did she tell them its origin. It has totally hooked us; we ordered another box last week. What a delightful find!

Kauai Coffee Estate Reserve Peaberry Dark Roast is Amazing!

Blissfully Gratified

August 13, 2019

A few months back we were on the trip of a lifetime on the island of Kauai and we happened upon the Kauai Coffee Company. The tour and free samples made for a delightful diversion in our day. Little did we know that this short jaunt off the beaten path would have a profound impact on our lives. I know this sounds a bit dramatic, however few experiences impact our daily existence as much as finding a wonderful, new coffee. We immediately fell in love with the incredible aroma and the delicious, rich, smooth flavors of this magnificent elixir. We had five pounds shipped to our home that afternoon and have been enjoying it daily ever since. Everyone who has experienced this Peaberry coffee with us has commented about its distinctive and delectable flavor. Only after they express their pleasure do we share its origin. Several have asked how to find it and as a result, have purchased some of their own. If you have not had the chance to enjoy this unique and special coffee I encourage you to try a bag. I assure you, you will not be disappointed!

Non-Coffee Drinker Turned Coffee Drinker

I have only had coffee fewer times than I can count on my fingers. Mainly only all-nighters studying in college. However, after drinking the Peabody, I had four cups of coffee because it was so good and bought some for myself and my parents. Recommend Peabody to everyone who wants to try really good coffee.

Our Favorite Coffee

We visited Kauai Coffee Company a few years ago on a vacation to Hawaii and found the medium roast Estate Reserve Peaberry. We have ordered the coffee in 5-lb bags ever since that trip and it's the only coffee we drink. A 5-lb bag lasts the two of us approximately 6 weeks. My wife and I enjoy the smooth, full-bodied taste of the medium roast, and anytime we travel domestically or internationally, we compare their coffees to ER Peaberry. Kauai ER Peaberry wins every time, and we are always glad to get back home to enjoy this outstanding coffee.

We've had it shipped to us for over 20 years. When ever we visit the island we always stop by the plantation to say Aloha and Mahalo for such delicious coffee.

9 Questions asked on Kauai Coffee Estate Reserve Peaberry

• 04/15/2018, 0:00:00 AM Which of your products has the highest caffeine concentration and isn’t very oily?
04/20/2018, 0:00:00 AM I took exactly ten grams of both a light and dark roast.
Counting the beans of each, I had sixty-five light roast beans and sixty-seven dark roast beans. Only a two bean difference, big deal, right? Well, actually yes, because if there is a two bean variance with just ten grams how many beans separate a pound of light and dark?
There is an estimated ninety bean difference between a pound of dark and light roast coffee, with the dark roast winning the count. (Don’t worry I didn’t count an entire pound to figure that out).
So, what does this mean? You should only buy dark roasts because you get more beans for your buck?
No, because volume is not everything. During the roasting process, a bean loses its mass. The density of the bean changes; beans that are roasted longer are less dense. That’s why you have more beans by mass of dark roasts. When coffee is roasted the beans lose roughly 90% of their water content.
So, how does this change a pot of coffee?
If you measure your coffee by scoops, light roasted coffee will have more caffeine. Since the beans are denser than a darker roast. However if you weigh out your scoops, darker roasts will have more caffeine, because there is less mass. What should also be noted is that Arabica beans vary in levels of caffeine depending on the plant species.
And, as we know from our caffeine basics the amount of caffeine in a cup of coffee is so minimal, we might not even notice the difference.
